The climate in Redmond allows play during the winter even when many courses in Bend are closed.  Our winter season starts the Monday after Thanksgiving and goes through February.

While Juniper Golf Course plans on being open for play  every day during the winter, weather conditions may result in course closure, delayed starts or various other restrictions.

Juniper Golf Course has bent grass greens.  The bent grass will only withstand so much traffic while in winter dormancy.  We therefore use temporary greens for a couple months during the winter.  We consult with Mother Nature, but we expect to get back on the regular greens sometime in mid-February.

The winter dormancy also requires us to minimize power cart traffic on the grass.  We therefore restrict power carts to asphalt cart paths during this dormancy period.  Players with handicap requirements may drive the carts on the grass on some days.  Check with the pro shop to get a handicap flag.  This winter "protective" nature is what, we believe, provides some of the best in season playing conditions is the area.
