Labor is one of the largest expenses in maintaining Juniper Golf Course. The care we take as players can have a significant impact on the amount of time our grounds crew must spend on repairing damage and maintaining our golf course. Please help keep golf affordable for all of us by paying attention to the following:
When taking a golf cart, use the cart paths as much as possible.
Don’t drive golf carts in the desert – golf carts should be driven on pavement or green mown grass only (not the native fescue).
When you do drive on grass, don’t drive in someone else’s tire tracks – give that grass a chance to recover.
Keep golf carts at least thirty yards from the greens (use the cart path).
Repair ball marks on the greens – try to make a habit of repairing your ball mark plus one other on each green. If you didn’t make a ball mark, help out by repairing someone else’s.
Replace divots – if there is no divot to replace, fill the divot with sand.
Rake bunkers smooth – try to leave the bunker in a condition that you would be willing to play out of (no foot prints, no deep furrows).
Leave rakes in the bunkers – in the center away from the edge to prevent balls being trapped near the lip of the bunker (placing the handle within reach of the edge with the head of the rake toward the center is preferred).
Pick up broken tees – tees left on the teeing ground dull mower blades and increase the frequency at which sharpening is required.
On the driving range, stay within the marked teeing ground to give the rest of the tee a chance to recover. You can limit the damage to the teeing ground by keeping your divots as close to one another as possible – place the next ball on the back or side edge of the previous divot.
Thank you,
